🌊 A hidden seaside spot in Métis-sur-Mer (just 15 minutes from my B&B)

Today was a sunny day, and I felt like going on a small adventure—something I used to do more often. This time, I explored a few places near my Bed & Breakfast.
I didn’t want to go too far, and I came across a small point of interest: a lighthouse in Métis-sur-Mer. I have to admit… I’ve always been drawn to lighthouses.
Driving along Route 132, just 15 minutes from my B&B, I arrived at a very small parking area—barely enough space for three cars. From there, the rest of the way must be done on foot.
From that point, I walked about 1 km to reach the lighthouse. Strategically placed—almost hidden—it sits at the edge of the bay.
Along the way, you might notice a few scattered accommodations, each seemingly tucked away in its own quiet corner.
Once near the water, you can walk right along the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River, feel the breeze, and notice that distinct scent of seaweed. It’s not a typical sandy beach—the ground is mostly rocky, shaped by erosion. But that’s part of its charm.
What fascinated me the most was the contrast: on one side, the open water; on the other, the trees. It feels like standing between two worlds.
The wind today was a reminder that winter hasn’t fully left yet—late April can still feel quite cold here. As inviting as the place is, you might find yourself heading back sooner than expected if the temperature drops.
It’s definitely a place you’ll want to return to when the weather is warmer.
